Overview
VesselOne has two company-level user roles: Company Admin and Technician. The role determines what a user can see and do within your company workspace.
Company Admin
Company Admins have full access within their company workspace.
- Create, edit, and archive vessels
- Create, edit, complete, and archive work orders
- Change any work order status (including Draft → Open, and In Progress → Complete)
- View and export timesheets for all team members
- Invite, deactivate, and manage team members
- Configure company settings, branding, and rates
- Manage billing and subscription
- Publish service history to vessel owners
- View cost summaries, margins, and billing breakdowns
Technician
Technicians have restricted access focused on work execution.
- View vessels and work orders they are assigned to
- Update work order status (Open → In Progress, In Progress → Awaiting Parts/On Hold)
- Log time against assigned work orders
- Upload and caption photos against assigned work orders
- Log material usage against assigned work orders
- Post in the work order chat
- View their own time entries
Technicians cannot view company billing data, cost summaries, hourly rates, or access company settings.
