What is VesselOne?

VesselOne is a multi-tenant SaaS platform built specifically for marine service companies. It brings together work order management, time tracking, vessel records, photo documentation, stock management, and team scheduling into one connected system.

VesselOne is operated by MCY Marine Group Pty Ltd. Marine service businesses subscribe as tenants, each with their own isolated workspace.

Three User Types

VesselOne has three distinct user types, each with different access and responsibilities.

  • Company Admin — Full access within your company. Manages vessels, work orders, team members, billing, and settings.
  • Technician — Assigned to work orders. Can log time, upload photos, update status, and log materials. Cannot access billing or company settings.
  • Vessel Owner (Phase 2) — Platform-level user with no company affiliation required. Views published service history and manages company access to their vessels.

A single person can hold both a company role and a vessel owner account simultaneously. This is called a dual identity and is managed automatically by VesselOne.

How Modules Connect

Every workflow in VesselOne flows through the Work Order as its central record. A vessel must exist before a work order can be created. Team members must be invited and accepted before they can be assigned. Company rates must be configured before Time & Materials billing is accurate.

  • Vessels → Work Orders (vessel must exist first)
  • Members → Work Orders (members must accept invite before assignment)
  • Settings → Rates → Work Orders (rates must be set for T&M billing)
  • Work Orders → Time Entries → Cost Summary
  • Work Orders → Photos → Owner Publishing (optional)
